Jaime married Stephen on 25th May 2015 in Cyprus, wearing a bespoke wedding dress designed by Patricia Barclay. Jaime was surrounded by her family and close friends who helped them celebrate their Special Day in style

When I first met Jaime in June 2014, she already knew that getting married in beautiful, sunny Cyprus wasn’t going to stop her having the princess wedding dress she had always dreamed of. A lighter, simpler destination gown wasn’t Jaime. She wanted the romance and drama of a full princess ballgown, and together we set about creating exactly that.

Jaime had lots of input throughout the design process, and it was wonderful watching her ideas gradually become her bespoke wedding gown. From our early conversations and sketches through to the moment she finally collected her dress, the gown was always about creating something that felt completely right for her.

Seeing the photographs afterwards, with that beautiful full skirt against the white Cypriot architecture and blue sea, I couldn’t imagine Jaime wearing anything else. Sometimes the destination doesn’t choose the dress. The bride does.

My Journey: I first met Patricia in June 2014 and together we began creating my dream wedding dress. Although Stephen and I were getting married in Cyprus and I knew it would be hot and sunny, I was absolutely adamant that I still wanted the beautiful princess ballgown I had always imagined myself wearing. Patricia listened and simply said that if I was determined to be a princess, then she would make sure I was a cool princess — in the temperature sense! She explained that she could use a softer, lighter tulle and build the volume with more layers, giving me the wonderful full princess skirt I wanted without the heaviness I might have expected from such a dramatic gown. I loved having so much input into my dress. From talking through my ideas and seeing the first sketch to eventually collecting the finished gown, the whole experience felt incredibly personal. When I finally saw my dress, it was everything I had dreamed of and so much more. We had the most amazing wedding day in Cyprus — and I got to be exactly what I had always wanted to be: a princess.

Wedding Dress: Jaime wore a bespoke princess wedding gown designed exclusively for her by Patricia Barclay for her destination wedding in Cyprus. To create the dramatic princess silhouette Jaime had always dreamed of while considering the warmer climate, Patricia used a softer, lighter tulle, building the volume through additional layers rather than relying on heavier fabrics. The result was a wonderfully full, romantic ballgown with all the presence of a traditional princess dress, but with a lighter construction designed especially for the Cypriot sunshine. Against the brilliant white architecture and beautiful Mediterranean backdrop, Jaime's full princess gown looked completely at home — romantic, dramatic and unmistakably her.
