Marianne came to me with just three months until her wedding and worried that she had left finding her dress too late. She really hadn’t. She fell in love with one of my designs, and from there it was simply about making sure everything was absolutely right for her. Her message afterwards said it all — it was “the most gorgeous dress I have ever seen and, more importantly, ever worn.”

I think Marianne is another lovely reminder that the length of the bridal journey doesn’t determine how special it can be. Sometimes the right dress appears at exactly the right time.

• My Journey: When I first met Patricia, I had just three months until my wedding day and was worried I had left everything far too late. Patricia immediately put me at ease and reassured me that if I loved one of her designs, she would make sure it was perfect for me. As soon as I tried on the dress, I knew it was the one. It felt as though it had been created especially for me. Despite the short timescale, every detail came together beautifully. Patricia made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free, and I couldn't wait to wear my dress on my wedding day. Looking back, I still feel incredibly lucky to have found the perfect gown at exactly the right moment. It made me feel beautiful, confident and completely myself.

• Wedding Dress: Marianne wore a Patricia Barclay design with a fitted strapless bodice and a wonderfully fluid skirt created from layers of softly sculpted organza. The sweeping train and movement through the skirt gave the gown its drama while keeping the overall silhouette beautifully elegant.
