Laura originally came to see me and tried several of my wedding gowns, initially considering buying one of my sample dresses. After going away, thinking about it and reading the wonderful reviews from brides who had trusted me to create their bespoke gowns, Laura came back and asked me to design a wedding dress especially for her.

Laura was such a pleasure to work with and we had lots of fun over the months that followed. When her gown finally arrived, it was everything we had created together and fitted her like a glove. Thank you, Laura, for believing in me and trusting me to create your wedding dress.

• My Journey: Tim proposed to me in Rome in May 2014 in the Giardino degli Aranci — the Orange Garden — somewhere I had visited many years before and absolutely loved. I first met Patricia in June and tried on several wedding dresses. I initially contemplated buying one of Patricia’s sample gowns off the peg, but after much deliberation and reading so many fantastic reviews from her brides, I decided to ask Patricia to design my very own wedding gown. • Wedding Dress: Laura wore a bespoke Lily Barclay wedding gown, designed exclusively for her by Patricia Barclay. Created in beautiful Italian lace, the gown featured a sweetheart neckline with delicate cap sleeves and an elegant illusion back finished with lace-covered working buttons and loops. The fitted silhouette hugged Laura’s waist and gently skimmed her hips before falling into beautiful tiered layers of lace and a dramatic cathedral-length train. Laura completed her bridal look with a matching bespoke cathedral-length veil, edged in coordinating lace and designed especially for her to complement the gown.
