Sara and George married on 20th June 2015 at All Saints Church in Bingley. Sara wore a Bespoke Amelia Gray Wedding Gown designed by Patricia Barclay. Sara and George were joined by family and friends to help them celebrate

I first met Sara in October 2014, and very quickly discovered that I had a slightly unusual design brief. Sara wanted a beautiful princess wedding gown, but there was one very important requirement — it had to work with her denim jacket. We laughed because usually when I’m designing a gown around something, it’s a treasured family veil, a piece of jewellery or a special headpiece. For Sara, it was her denim jacket — and that told me so much about the bride I was designing for.

The gown needed to have all the romance and magic of a princess dress without losing Sara’s wonderfully individual personality. We created a bespoke Amelia Gray gown that did exactly that. Seeing her on her wedding day, laughing with George in that beautiful gown and her denim jacket, I knew we’d got it right. She didn’t just look like a bride. She looked like Sara.

My Journey: I first met Patricia in October 2014 and knew at that first appointment that I was going to find my dream dress. Patricia had a slightly unusual task because not only did she have to create my perfect wedding gown, it had to work with my denim jacket. We both laughed about it because Patricia said it was a first — usually she was asked to design around a family veil or headpiece. I did warn her that I was a little bit quirky! Patricia designed me the most gorgeous princess gown and somehow made everything work beautifully together. On my wedding day I had the beautiful wedding dress I'd dreamed of, but I could still wear my denim jacket and feel completely comfortable being myself. I just felt so me.

Wedding Dress: Sara wore a bespoke Amelia Gray princess gown, designed exclusively for her by Patricia Barclay. The gown was created to give Sara the romantic princess silhouette she loved while working beautifully with the denim jacket that was such an important part of her wedding-day look. The result brought two very different elements together — romantic bridal design and Sara's own individual style — without either one overwhelming the other.
